Post-WWII, government agent JR Devlin (Cary Grant) enlists Alicia Huberman (Ingrid Bergman), the American daughter of a convicted Nazi spy, to break into the inner circle of a group of German scientists hiding out in Rio de Janeiro. But things get complicated when Devlin is told he must convince Alicia to seduce Alex Sebastian (Claude Rains).
