"Rattles along without ever losing momentum."—Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

Alfred Hitchcock serves up a slice of pure delight in this comic thriller, one of the final films of his early British period. On a continental European train bound for England, the elderly countess Miss Froy disappears. The only catch is young tourist Iris Henderson (Margaret Lockwood) is the only one who seems to have seen her before she vanished—the other passengers conspicuously deny her existence. Determined to get to the bottom of the situation, she takes it upon herself to investigate alongside a fellow traveler (Michael Redgrave) and stumbles upon a web of mystery and into a rousing romance.
